- per head of household: at least €2,316.08 per month;
- for all other family members: at least 579.08 euros per month.
The sum for all family members is added up and multiplied by 24 months, as the residence permit is extended for 2 years. We have already calculated everything, the data is presented below.

For 5 people
111,172 euros
After renewing your residence permit in Spain, it is not necessary to keep the amount in your account. However, it must be kept at the time of each renewal of the residence permit.
Time limits for staying in Spain
To extend your temporary stay in Spain, you must stay in the country for more than 182 days per year. It is possible not to stay consecutively. However, if you plan to apply for a residence permit after 5 years, you cannot be absent for more than 10 months in total during this period. Therefore, we recommend that you limit your absence from Spain to two months per year, so that there are no problems with obtaining a residence permit.
∗Days of absence in Spain are counted in the calculation of the period of residence with a residence permit, and days of absence from the European Union are counted in the calculation of the period of residence with a permanent residence permit.
Testimonials
We had to solve the issue of moving to Spain for a long period, and our tourist visa was about to expire. We didn’t bother and turned to the pros. And we didn’t regret it! They supported us and helped us at every stage of paperwork. They did everything promptly, without unnecessary questions. Now we have a student visa, and we are simply enjoying life in Spain: learning Spanish, enjoying the sun and the sea. Many thanks to Tatyana and Svetlana for their attention and professionalism!
When I decided to delve into the Digital Nomad residency issue, I turned to Tatyana. Before that, of course, I scanned the market and talked to a couple of people. Tatyana immediately caught my eye with her responsibility and accuracy (who knows how the Spanish market works, will understand that this is a rarity) and clear explanations of all the details. Even though my case was complicated, Tatyana prepared a list of documents in advance (and even suggested ways to save a little, since some of the documents could be avoided) that I would need. This helped speed up the process, and the next day after arriving in Spain I submitted the documents. Tatyana is always in touch, ready to answer all questions. As soon as we received approval for me and my wife, we were immediately signed up to submit fingerprints. The next thing on the list of things to do when I contact Tatyana again is residency for parents, a child, and replacement of rights.
I want to express my gratitude to Tatyana for her help with Nomand. The path was really difficult, I thought about giving up more than once at different stages (the last time I would have even preferred not to go for fingerprints ????) But Tatyana was always in touch, helped with documents and their registration here in Spain. And finally - hurray! I will receive my card in a month. Thank you all very much!
We are absolutely satisfied with the quality of services for obtaining a residence permit from Hispania! Anna gave us detailed advice on all the required documents, their preparation and legalization. She always answered our questions quickly and exhaustively, all problems were solved without delays. We received support at every stage: collection, legalization, apostille, appointment, help with finding a school and a lot of useful information on all aspects. Our case was far from the simplest, but thanks to the help of Hispania, the preparation of documents went smoothly, and no problems arose during consideration. The decision was even made earlier than expected. We are immensely grateful to Anna and Tatiana for prompt support, answers to all our questions and solving all problems. I highly recommend Hispania for cooperation.
Question and answer
What is a residence permit and what benefits does it provide?
A residence permit in Spain is an official document that gives foreign citizens the right to temporary or permanent residence on its territory. If you are going to stay in Spain for less than 3 months, you will need a regular visa. However, for a long-term stay in the country, you must obtain a residence permit, which takes several weeks to process.
Obtaining a residence permit in Spain is mandatory, as this document provides the following rights and opportunities:
- Legal stay in Spain 365 days a year;
- Opening bank accounts;
- Obtaining loans from banks;
- Free movement within the Schengen area;
- The ability to obtain permanent residence in Spain after a few years, and then citizenship.
There are certain restrictions imposed on a residence permit in Spain:
- The need to stay in the country for at least 183 days a year;
- Compliance with Spanish legislation.
The first residence permit is issued for 1 year, after which it can be extended. The second residence permit is issued for 2 years, and it can also be extended for another 2 years. After living in Spain for 5 years, you will not be able to extend the residence permit, but you can apply for permanent residence. After another 5 years of residence in the country, you can receive a Spanish passport.
Options for types of residence permit and its registration?
In Spain, various types of residence permits are available to Russian citizens, including:
- Without the right to work: for individuals who are unable to find employment;
- Investment: requires investment in the Spanish economy;
- Educational: intended for students;
- Work: with the right to employment;
- Scientific research: to conduct scientific research;
- Family reunification: for individuals who already have close relatives living in the country;
- Family: granted to families with children living in Spain.
Depending on the type of residence permit, a different set of documents is required. For example, for an educational residence permit, you must provide acceptance documentation from the educational institution, and for an investment residence permit, you must provide confirmation of investments in real estate or business.
The process of obtaining a residence permit in Spain includes the following steps:
- Preparing and submitting documents to the Spanish consulate.
- Waiting for a decision, which can take from 1 to 3 months.
- Obtaining a residence permit in the event of a positive decision from the consulate.
- Entering Spain within 3 months after receiving the residence permit, otherwise the document becomes invalid.
- Obtaining a resident card within a month after entry.
It is important to meet all processing deadlines, since violation of the law can lead to deportation. The consulate may refuse to issue a residence permit, most often due to improper preparation of documents. In case of refusal, it is necessary to correct the errors and re-submit the documents, but this can delay the registration process. Therefore, it is recommended to prepare documents correctly from the very beginning, if necessary, seeking help from specialists.
How to find out the readiness status of a residence permit and where to find information?
If you are interested in the current status of your residence permit in Spain, there are several ways to check it online. One of them is to use the Extranjería web resource. In order to find out the status, you need to follow a special link, which is provided on the website abcspain.ru. Here you will find detailed instructions on how to check the status of your case in the Extranjería system.
How to obtain a residence permit in Spain through the purchase of real estate and what requirements must be met?
If you are thinking about obtaining a residence permit in Spain based on the purchase of real estate, it is important to note that at the moment this type of residence is only available on the condition that the cost of the acquired property is at least 500,000 euros, and the transaction is carried out without the use of mortgage funds since 2013. This type of residence is called an investor residence permit. However, if this investment option does not suit you, there is an alternative – obtaining a residence permit without the right to work. To do this, you must provide documents on income outside Spain in the amount of at least 26,000 euros for the first family member and 7,000 for each subsequent member, as well as have an amount in a Spanish bank account corresponding to the income. In addition, it is required to conclude a lease agreement for 1 year or have documents confirming the ownership of real estate in Spain.
