Marina Alta: A Place for New Construction

The tourist town of Calpe is located in the north of the province of Alicante in the Marina Alta region, between the towns of Benissa and Altea, covering an area of 22.9 km2 with an average altitude of 20 m above sea level. Calpe has three main areas: the urban area, the beaches and the urbanizations, each with its own unique style of construction and population. The most iconic and symbolic geographical element of Calpe is the Peñón de Ifach, a 332 m high rock, 1 km long, which divides the coastline into two large bays with the beaches of “La Fossa” to the north and “Arenal Bol” to the south. Along the 13 km of coastline there are beaches and coves, which are the main components of the tourist product of the region. Calpe offers two types of accommodation: residential tourism based on home owners and holiday tourism, which attracts young and middle-aged families. The area also offers a variety of leisure facilities, including one of the largest theme parks in Europe, Terra Mitica, and several golf courses. Calpe also has a well-equipped yacht club for water sports enthusiasts.
