The climate and lifestyle leave their mark on the Spaniards. Different regions of Spain have their own traditions associated with this holiday.

Madrid’s cosmopolitan atmosphere leaves its mark on Christmas celebrations. Here you can find snow on Christmas, as winters are quite cold. Madrid is famous for its Christmas markets. Tourists are sure to visit the Cortylandia fair, where you can buy various goods.

Catalonia also plays an important role in the Spanish Christmas lottery. The town of Sort is considered a magical place where lottery lovers come every year. Catalonia has its own Christmas traditions and characters. The main one is the “Caga Tio”, or “pooping log”. Catalan children receive their Christmas presents from this character. There is also a theatrical show “Shepherds”, telling the story of the birth of Christ. In Girona, before Christmas, winter attractions are set up, where you can have fun.
